MOMENTS OF 2003

The Rendezvous Fashion Parties In early 2003, my dearest friend Dimitris Mykonos & I threw our first successful monthly together called "Rendezvous" that was a fashion event were "You Were the Supermodel". Rendezvous was my first endeavor to help jump-start the fashion party scene in San Francisco by encouraging people to dress in their most fashion-forward attire and to creatively express themselves through fashion. The party and its theme were well-received and brought out an immaculate crowd of people starving for this type of environment.... Thank you to all of you who supported what we were trying to create and embraced its fashion-forward theme.
 
 The Foreign Cinema Parties I owe a tremendous amount of appreciation and respect to Delicious Karma for their supperclub party concept "Delicious" that magically transformed 5-star fine-dining restaurant Foreign Cinema into a full-blown nightclub. Who would have ever of thought that, month after month, over 600 of the most beautiful, most upscale people would drive all the way out into the heart of the Mission District. People did and it was absolutely magical. I also had the best birthday party of my life (along w/ my Latin/Brazilian House CD Release) last year at this legendary event, as many of you came out to support me and made it the biggest, most sucessful Foreign Cinema party ever. We had some wonderful meals and some absolutely incredible times at Foreign Cinema. So Thank You again for your incredible support in the supperclub concept and helping us pave the way for all-new, upscale party experiences in San Francisco. 
 The CHILL Parties & Naked Music In February 2003, I wanted to do a lounge party where I could share all of my "non-dance oriented" jazzy, soulful house that I think is beautiful to listen to, but most-often not suited for a danceclub environment. I also wanted to incorporate some live female vocalists to sing over my music and add a "jazz-club" feel and class to the party. I was introduced to the beautiful Ozumo restaurant by a good friend of mine and immediately fell in love with the space and knew it would be the perfect spot for the "CHILL" party. Over the past 11 months, the CHILL party has become my pride and joy event that has grown to over 500 people a month... Due to your support in making it an enormous success, we have been able to bring in big name artists like progressive house DJ Behrouz playing an "exclusive all-chill" set and my favorite record label in the world, Naked Music, hosting their official holiday party with us. I wish to especially thank Tak Naito of Ozumo for believing in my vision. I also wish to thank my two incredible hosts Juan Arenas & Matt Brehm for all of their hard work and unyielding loyalty to me. 
Donovan's
Residency in San Diego
In February 2003, I also began my residency with San Diego's top promoter
Ptolemy Productions that discovered me at a W Hotel party in San Francisco and
began flying me down for the most upscale party in San Diego called the "Sky
Room" playing to San Diego's elite party crowd. The party was at the top of a
hotel with a panoramic view of all downtown San Diego and with a retractable
roof that opened up over the dancefloor and allowed people to dance under the
stars... In July, Ptolemy Productions took over Saturday Nights at "On
Broadway", the biggest, most popular super nightclub in San Diego that holds
over 2,500 people (almost twice the size of Ruby Skye). I had the great
pleasure of headlining the main room several times, getting to introduce and
"educate" San Diego on our San Francisco flavor... A Big Thank you to Ptolemy
Productions & San Diego for embracing me and welcoming me into their family.
 The 3rd Annual White Party For the second year in a row, I had the great fortune of being asked to play the biggest, most famous party in Ruby Skye history: THE WHITE PARTY. Another dream of mine fulfilled as I got to play with two of my favorite DJs, David Harness & Lazy Dog's Jay Hannan. Again, this was the blow-out Ruby Skye party of 2003 with one of the most beautiful crowds ever and another magical night created by everyone's "dress white" theme participation. Thank You Martel & Nabiel, Delicious Karma, NNOO Production, and Ruby Skye for believing in me... 
 
The "Summer
Love" Party
In August, I was blessed with the opportunity to co-promote for my first party
with Martel & Nabiel and Ruby Skye. In the heated midst of the San Francisco
summer, we conceptualized a party and "vibe" that celebrated the beautiful
spirit of summer. "SUMMER LOVE" was about soulful, sun-kissed house music
that brought a smile to your face, wearing your favorite colorful summer
attire, listening to a live Carribean steel drum band, and eating fresh summer
fruits. This was also the official CD Release Party for my "Summer Love" CD.
With the incredible support of many of you, we packed the house and made Ruby
Skye history. This was huge triumph and turning point in my professional
career. So "Thank You" to everyone who made this night a success, especially
my dear friend Dimitris Mykonos who selflessly and unconditionally supported
me through it all...
Ruby Skye's "3 of San Francisco's
Finest DJs" Party
After the enormous success of the "SUMMER LOVE" Party, Ruby Skye invited
myself and close friends Dimitris Mykonos and Frenchy Le Freak back to
co-headline our very own Saturday Night at Ruby Skye. This was a huge honor
as Saturday Nights at Ruby Skye are always reserved for world-class DJs such
as Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Satoshi Tomi, etc. It was an even bigger
honor that Ruby Skye named the party "3 of San Francisco Finest DJs". Again,
due to your incredible support in spreading the word and coming out to support
us, we proved that 3 local San Francisco DJs could pack the house and bring a
vibe just as good as the big boys... Another epic night at Ruby Skye that I
will personally never forget and will always attribute to the incredible
support of my friends and my loyal supporters...
 
The
Shoe Party
In October, I joined forces once again with Martel & Nabiel and Ruby Skye,
along with fashion designer and fashion show producer Nadia Patel to put on a
refreshing and original fashion event at Ruby Skye like nothing that has ever
been done before. The Shoe Party was a celebration event for shoe fashion
where we encouraged our patrons to wear their favorite fashion-forward shoes.
Nadia Patel produced one of the most original fashion shows focused on cutting
edge footwear provided by San Francisco leading fashion-forward shoe stores:
Gimme Shoes, Shaw Shoes, Solo Shoes, and Shoe Biz. Your response was
phenomenal. Women came out in armies for this event. The vibe was
incredible. It was so beautiful and probably one of the most rewarding
events of any I've helped produce at Ruby Skye. So "Thank You" again to all
of you who did come out support this event and to support our movement to
bring more fashion culture to San Francisco. Thank You again to Martel &
Nabiel and Ruby Skye for believing in me, and a very special heart-felt "Thank
You" to Nadia Patel for working with me and producing a fabulous show.
 
The W
Hotel 2nd Annual Halloween Masquerade Ball
For the 2nd year in a row, I have had the great pleasure
of being a part of the W Hotel's new annual tradition, The W Hotel Halloween
Masquerade Ball, the classiest, most upscale Halloween party in all of San
Francisco. Once again, this year, we broke W Hotel history with one of its
biggest, most successful events ever. Thank You to all of you who chose to
share Halloween with us. I also wish to personally thank NNOO Production &
The W Hotel San Francisco for all of their support in me over this past
year...
The
Together Party
On one down-pour rainy night in November, my two friends, Dimitris Mykonos and
Frenchy Le Freak, and I came "together" and almost caught pneumonia setting up
rain tents outside our first party independent of any club promoter or popular
nightclub. The "TOGETHER" Party celebrated "unity" and "friendship" at the
beautiful, enchanting ButterFly Restaurant on the Water was a huge milestone
achievement for us all. On this stormy night in a relatively unknown venue
all the way across town, we packed over 600 of the most beautiful, upscale,
and internationally mixed crowds in San Francisco and created one of the most
magical vibes of any party I have ever been a part of... It truly was one of
the best moments of 2003 for me. Thank you to all of who beared the weather
and made it out that night. And a special Thanks to Robert Lam of ButterFly
Restaurant for believing in us.
New
Years Eve 2004 w/ Miguel Migs
There was no better way to end this incredible year than with the guys who
have consistently thrown the best New Years Eve parties for the past two
years... After teaming up with Delicious Karma in 2002 at the immaculate
Clift Hotel, it was a no brainer that I would join forces with DK again to put
on the biggest, most classiest New Years affair in all of San Francisco. With
a $40K budget to transform the beautiful IMG Home Gallery into a Morrocan/
Middle-Eastern themed atmosphere, the result was nothing less than
breathtaking... And for those of you who got in before we sold-out know
without a doubt, this was one hell of a party. A special thanks to all of you
who rallied your friends and paid the ticket price to come be there with me.
This event definitely goes down in the history books...
