SCHOOLING THE NEW SCHOOL ON OLD SCHOOL
"HOUSE MUSIC IS ABOUT LOVE"
Thank you to all of my "old school" friends & "new school" friends who came out to support my tribute set to "old school" house at the beautiful new nightclub SOM (formerly "PINK NIGHTCLUB", remodeled & gorgeous). I ended up playing an all-vinyl set of all my house favorites from the late 90's and early 00's. It truly was a magical vibe and made me realize how a lot of the "soul" of house music appears to have gotten lost in this new age of electro and big room banging house.
Preparing for my DJ set, as I delved through my 10 year collection of over 10,000 house records, I re-discovered my affinity to organic, deep, soulful, vocal house that was once called "San Francisco house" and its infectious vibe of love, elation, and spiritually inspiration. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity to go back to my roots and rediscover why I fell in love with house music in the first place. And I hope through my new PSALM party, I can share & inspire others to fall in love with house music all over again and to enchant & educate new listeners to its beauty. Psalm means "a sacred poem from the Book of Psalms from the Old Testament". So, there is greating meaning & purpose behind the party name PSALM. It's foundation is to retain the "old teachings" of love, respect, humility, and integrity. Thank you for supporting what PSALM stands for.
